26 - André Boucourechliev: Archipel 3 - Les Percussions De Strasbourg, Georges Pludermacher ‎- 1969

André Boucourechliev - Archipel 3
Les Percussions De Strasbourg, Georges Pludermacher‎
Philips Prospective 6526 001,1969

The explorers of this landfall are the interpreters...

Archipel III of 1969 belongs to the series of works sharing that title: Archipel I (1967, 2 pianos and percussion), Archipel II (1968, string quartet), Archipel III (1969, piano and percussion) and Archipel IV (1970, piano). All the Archipel pieces are conceived as "open forms" presenting the performers with numerous variant formal layouts that the players dispose freely in a "game of lively riposte and altercation". Pitches, melodic profiles, registers, durations and rates of flow, dynamics, etc. are carefully thought out and written down, leaving no place to chance, in order to create complex, variable relationships. Boucourechliev maintains a firm grip on the material so that the pieces of the series always have a strong sense of direction, and the final results are always musically rewarding.
A1 - Archipel 3 (1ère Version) 13:55
A2 - Archipel 3 (2e Version) 14:20
B - Archipel 3 (3e Version) 21:20

Ensemble – Les Percussions De Strasbourg
